This is the ideal basil if you want to have a charming herb pot. It grows naturally into a sweet looking ball. The leaves are tiny, only a half inch long, but don't let them fool you. The leaves are very aromatic and tasty. Basils can't take even the hint of frost. 600 seeds per packet.

fast to germinate, easy to grow Jul 31, 2009

These seeds germinated in a matter of days, with nearly 100% of planted seeds breaking the surface. (The ones i started (as recommended) in seed starting mix died, but the ones i started in peat pellets are all thriving, so spend the extra dollar or so to pick up some peat pellets.)

I currently have four little basil bushes, all a few inches tall. They smell wonderful, but i'm going to let them get a little bigger before i start harvesting the leaves for cooking.
