Long Island Improved Brussels Sprouts Heirloom Seeds

Sow in the garden 3-4 months prior to the first fall frost. They like it cool, so in hot climates sow in the fall for a late winter or early spring harvest. They'll look like small palm trees when dusted with snow. Not going south this winter? Just admire your plants.

• If you think you don't like brussels sprouts, you're buying them in the store.

• From the garden they're fantastic; they're firm and flavorful and compliments hearty meats and sausages.

• Or roast them with other vegetables, adding a hint of garlic.

• Ok to leave them in the garden, as winter frost actually improves the flavor.
