Try sweet onions in garden Feb 28, 2012
By Dan the Bug Man The seeds look like a great way to grow Vadillia Onions. I do not know the result as no harvest yet. If all is well there should be some fine onions. Sets are expensive and not widely available. Seeds if planted very early and kept warm could be a fine idea. About a penny a seed for the seeds including shipping. Purchased online as not available locally. Shipping excessive charge and a first class stamp is all necessary to get them to the buyer. I would buy again if successful but one needs to shop and shop again for a good price.
Sweet Onions Sep 03, 2011

These are going to be planted this Fall and thinned in the spring. There are lots of seeds and who can cook without onions? I clean and chop the whites and greens separately and freeze them. When I want to make a sauce they are already softend by the freezing, so they cook faster and taste sweeter.
