3A qualified success  Jun 24, 2010
By J. L. Harrison "Snowbird"
The envelope contained 20 seeds. I soaked them in water overnight before planting in peat pots. Nine of the seeds germinated and have been planted in the garden. It will be another month before they bloom...I'll update this review once that happens.

October: About five of the nine germinated seeds made it to flower and produced beans (next year's seeds). The survivors looked great on my fence and filled out beautifully, attracting bees and hummers. Bottom line, 25% of the seeds were winners. BTW, I'm in Northeast Ohio, planting zone #5.

5Trying to see if Purple Hyacinth will survive in Oregon  May 28, 2010
By Kenneth W Laurance
I grew purple hyacinths in Houston successfully for several years. The vine has leaves with purple veins, scented flowers, and purple seed pods. We moved to Eastern Oregon and am going to see if they do well here during the summer. The seeds germinated quickly and are now growing in pots waiting for warmer weather to go outside. Followup: The purple hyacinth is not suitable for Eastern Oregon. I got a small two foot vine with a few flowers, nothing like the huge flowering vine that I grew in Houston. It is just too cold here.

5Perfect!  May 14, 2012

These are exactly what I was looking for...I should have ordered more ;-) The seeds sprouted well and are growing vigorously.

5Germinate and Grow Fast  Nov 22, 2011
By MrPuddles
I received the product as pictured/described. The seeds germinated within 48-hours using the paper towel method (think grade school!). The vines grow incredibly fast. Within days it was already a couple inches out of the soil. Highly recommended.

5WONDERFUL vines  Oct 26, 2011

Purple Hyacinth Bean Seeds - Flower Vine
These seeds were WONDERFULL! Even though I put off planting them due to so very much rain rain rain in the spring, when I did plant them in late June they took off. I gave some to a friend, as well, and we were both amazed at the vigor of the plants. Mine bloomed beautifully until the first frost. I am very happy with this product.
